Welcome back to the machine, my college’s administration would probably say. It’s been a busy week, so this is going to be another blog-y post. I’ll do a less-about-me-more-about-the-world one next time. And now I’m done with hyphenated words.
Whew. What a ride already. This has probably been my busiest start of a semester ever. As a senior who changed major midway through my college career, my workload is quite freakin’ large compared to my fellow classmates of 2014. That, along with new extracurricular activities (being the secretary of my department’s student council) and my broadening social circle has made my world officially CRAZY. (But we’re never gonna survive unless we get a little crazy, right?)
So far, I’ve made some knicks, knacks, and doodads for my creative writing course (my minor) and I’ve gotten to work on a couple multimedia projects (my major), including a walk cycle animation for my 3D animation class and some flash sketches for my 2D animation class. I’d post some of the animation work I’ve done here, but free WordPress accounts can’t submit video. Shucks.
To be honest though, under most other circumstances in life this kind of workload would stress the shit out of me, but I’m honestly happy as happy can be right now. Maybe I can finally find a girlfriend next!
The craziness isn’t going to stop there, however. This weekend is Dragon-Con, the biggest nerd convention on the east coast, where parades of storm troopers and Jean Luc-Picard’s are going to march down the Atlanta streets, while costumed geeks like myself line the convention halls on the prowl for merchandise and the autographs of cartoon/anime/game voice actors, writers and designers. I haven’t really had the time to prepare a proper costume though, unfortunately, so right now my plan is to improvise with a cardboard box and a pair of boxing gloves. Har de har har.
